EVENTS - GENERAL PUBLIC
Experience a colourful event for all the family in September.
The Queensland Maritime Museum at South Bank is proud to present Pirates Week
during the September School Holidays. It all happens each day from Wednesday
24th to Friday 26th September. The program is for boys and girls aged between
5 to 11 years.
Each day commences with the 20 minute Pirates Pantomime and supported by the
live Buccaneers Band. The audience is encouraged to Cheer or Boo the various characters.
Following the show, all the children will be placed in small groups with a guide and conducted
through the 9 activities around the site and on board the HMAS Diamantina.
These activities include:
For the younger ones:
Walk the plank
Scrub and swab a deck
Lie in a hammock
Try the Ships blocks and tackle
Eat Pirate food
Build a toy boat plus much more...
And for the older ones:
Work the Big Guns,
Rowing a boat [on dry land],
Throw a life line,
Eat pirate food
Make knots, flags and sails,
Work cannons plus much more...
Each day starts at 10.00 am with assembly by all at 09.45 am and concludes at 2.30 pm
with a treasure hunt! There is also daily competitions for the best Pirate costumes and
a colouring in poster.
Entry for children includes a special “pirates theme” lunch (Choice of 4 options).
Our Prices:
WITH LUNCH INCLUDED: $ 21.00 per child and THEN $18.00 for each additional family child.
WITH LUNCH NOT INCLUDED: $ 18.00 per child and THEN $15.00 for each additional family child.

*No special diets will be provided PLEASE BYO FOOD IF APPLICABLE.
**Adults are required to accompany 5 and 6 year olds [These Adults have free entry. Max 2 Child/Adult]
***If required, other accompanying adults or children outside age group at $ 7.00.
****No meal will be provided, however lunch is available (Choice to purchase 3 options).

Thursday 25th bookings close at 3.00 pm Monday 22nd of September.
Friday 26th bookings close at 3.00 pm Tuesday 23rd of September.
